Take a moment, and really look at your own skin.
Notice the scars, from places that you have been.
Notice the freckles, the bumps, the imperfections.
Nobody should be judged, by your skin complexion.
Your skin is not white, and your skin is not even black.
One is a saturation of color, the other is what it must lack.
One reflects color, and one absorbs it, letting it right in.
Both are not colors, therefore not the color of your skin.
Take some white and black paper, and put it up to your arm.
What you will soon find, might cause you some alarm.
You’ll notice it is not white, it is not black, but it is brown.
Your skin is on the outside, your character is deep down.
Your hair, skin, and your eyes are seen on the outside.
Those are the first things you see, then bias is applied.
You have a reaction to what you see, that is normal.
You look for who is similar, and who is also abnormal.
It is our differences, that always will make us unique.
But it will always be our similarities, that you seek.
For when we look for what we share, then we will know.
We are all beautiful works of art from Vincent Van Gogh.
It is our imperfections, that make us always shine.
There are some characteristics, that we can not assign.
We’re who we are born to be, no problem with that.
Treat everyone as a human, and not like a doormat.
