DIVIDED AND UNITED

The Republicans and Democrats, both think that they’re right.
Standing up for what we all believe in, always worth, the fight.
Through this fighting, this disagreement, they miss the purpose.
Not choosing to make things better for all, but making it worse.

At the core, each of them is completely different, not ever wrong.
It is these differences, not the similarities that make us all belong.
We disagree on what’s best for our country, with different thought.
Missing similarities, making our differences make us all distraught.

A compromise, or a bi-partisan agreement, is considered the best.
Our differences, the effort we make, should never be suppressed.
All of our differences, are so different, how could we ever agree?
We choose to defy, our own beliefs, thinking they need surgery.

Neither difference is wrong or right, for that’s what we believe.
We let other’s thoughts and beliefs, change what we’ll perceive.
An agreement, a compromise, will never make everyone content.
The only thing that it’ll do, is make the other be, who they resent.

If I have to give up my beliefs, and you the same, no one will win.
This will only lead to the suffering for everyone, to start to begin.
When people disagree, we start to fight, and really miss the point.
Failing to meet the hopes or expectations, with a great disappoint.

Not choosing to compromise or fight, we are then just discontent.
Longing for something better than the present situation meant.
We’re stuck with our own beliefs and values, and want to be heard.
We’re fearful that the detected sense of hearing, will be blurred.

It is the judgement of our beliefs, our ideas, that’ll make us divide.
All of the reasons for our division, are always very easily supplied.
Missing the similarities or themes, when we choose to then fight.
Things that we all agree to stand up for, will make us then, unite.

We’re more similar than different, no matter the difference we see.
Similarities are not compromises, that’ll cause for us, to try to flea.
The things that we can all agree upon, are never just a compromise.
When our politicians, understand this, then they will always be wise
